[Checker-l] Thermostat removal

Hello All,

I recently replaced my thermostat with one that is supposed to open at
190 degrees, but actually opens most frequently around 220. My Checker
(a 72 A12 350) doesn't have a recovery tank (does anyone's?) and when it
gets hot like that it loses significant amounts of coolant out of the
overflow hose that hangs down the passenger side of the radiator. I find
myself always having to add and don't like to think about spilling all
that coolant onto the ground. I'm thinking of just pulling the
thermostat and running without it. Aside from longer warm-up time, are
there any negative affects to this?

Thanks,
Richard
