Engine overhauled at 129,000. Engine And Transmission leak some oil. Transmission has to be in Neutral position to start car (ie: won't start in park). Probably needs ball joints because tires are wearing on the inside.Underside has no rust as far as I can tell. Front seat was upholstered a few years ago in original pattern but, has developed a tear. Back seat needs replacement. Floor carpets and floor rubber in good shape.Back Seat has highly desireable Foot Rest Bar. Paint 8 years old shows well. Some minor rust bubbles at rain gutter and lip of hood. Most chrome looks good. Grill, wind wings and wheel covers pitted. Fun to drive and hauls alot of people or stuff from Home Depot. The monster back seat is great fun and is what made Checker legendary as Taxi Cabs. Driving a Checker makes every outing a parade. Car is in Southern California. I'm letting you all know about it before I eventually put it up on ebay. Here is the link to a website I made to showcase the car and engine. www.geocities.com/checkerndrums/home.html It is a 1966 Marathon A-11 with a Chevy 283 2 barrell attached to a 3 speed borg warner on the tree. It is painted and decaled as a yellow taxi. New true dual exhaust with cutouts, tinted rear windows, and restored. I am in a rush right now so I can't give all the details. I'll be adding more details to the site later. There is even a link to listen to the car muffled and straight exhaust. Unfortunately geocities only allows a certain amount of traffic per hour. If the link doesn't work try again in an hour. The Chevy Engine is an 80's L98 Vette engine. 350 cid fuel injected. The engine came from a Chevy performance center in Michigan. I will try to get more information, but I do not believe it was ever put into a car, and probably only has a few hours of run time on it, if that. Feel free to email me at permanentjaun@hotmail.com to ask questions or make offers. If you can't get the website to work for a while then email me and I'll be happy to send pictures.
