Thanks for the notice.  The "Medi Taxi" is the one that I was looking 
for.  It was for sale on eBay about a month ago but didn't make the 
reserve bid.  The car came from a museum in Branson, MO.  It's up with 
no reserve at Kruse.  I'll be bidding.

I used to own a Medicab. I bought it in Florida, brought it up to 
Connecticut, and sold it to a couple who moved to California. If you don't 
win (or if you do), I'd be interested to see if the VIN looks "familiar." I 
sold it in 1981 for reference.

I don't have the car yet but I do have the VIN on the bill of sale:

Not the same car as the one you had and maybe not the same problems.  I

It looks like Kruse haven't posted the recent Auburn, IN 
sale yet. Probably still shuffling the paperwork, making 
sure all the sales get completed with no glitches and 
getting all the cars out the door to the various transport 
companies.

Actually, my wife and I have a friend who has lost both legs to 
diabetes and we need a way to take him shopping, doctor appts, etc. 
Rather than get a used conversion van (Yuk!) at three times the price, 
we chose to get a Checker.  Don't worry.  I'll finish the Trekker one day.

Now, the information I got from the Club a while back was 40 in 1969, 40 in 1970, and 18 in 1971. As I have a 1971 Medicar I would tend to think that there were 3 years of manufacture...

The 350 is coming out of my 1971, as is the "Dual Range" BW auto. I  
am not certain that this block is original to the car, I know it has  
been rebuilt by someone I do not trust, and that it has a knock. It  
also has an Edelbrock manifold, new Edelbrock carb,new Sanderson  
headers and a custom cross-under pipe built in the Sanderson shop and  
probably a couple of other useful items (the trans was rebuilt two  
years ago but is now leaking from the front seal.) I do not think the  
mechanic who is putting in the new engine will find anyone who wants  
any of this so I thought I would put the word out to see if anyone  
can use this stuff. I think the headers (and crossover) are worth a  
few $ but the rest may not be worth boxing and shipping.

The 350 is coming out of my 1971, as is the "Dual Range" BW auto. I am not certain that this block is original to the car, I know it has been rebuilt by someone I do not trust, and that it has a knock. It also has an Edelbrock manifold, new Edelbrock carb,new Sanderson headers and a custom cross-under pipe built in the Sanderson shop and probably a couple of other useful items (the trans was rebuilt two years ago but is now leaking from the front seal.) I do not think the mechanic who is putting in the new engine will find anyone who wants any of this so I thought I would put the word out to see if anyone can use this stuff. I think the headers (and crossover) are worth a few $ but the rest may not be worth boxing and shipping.?

Speaking of engines: I have  a 229 ci v-6 that has been running on
propane since it was delivered from the factory to the local cab
company.I have owned the Checker since June of 2002 and replaced it this
month with a Chevy 350.I have the engine and propane setup for
